There's nothing like a fantastic brunch on sunday morning, with platters of antipastos, crab legs, fruit, all the usual greasy breakfast items, throw in some chicken, fish, pork, potatoes, and a dessert train that includes every single chocolate dessert know to Americans.  WOW, it was soo good, add a fancy schamcy hotel and the fact that is FREE and how more perfect can a morning get........

Unfortunately, the catch, we're dining with Wash U faculty which while nice and lovely to have brunch with, you can't PIG OUT!  I mean, a $35/head brunch is laid out before you, and you have to exercise restraint and not get platter after platter and try every single of the 30 lucious desserts just waiting to be tried.   ARGHAHAH!!!  They even offered free bloody mary's and mimosa's, but I thought it would be very bad form to get drunk given I was sitting next to our dean of student affairs.

::sigh:: beautiful morning, wonderful conversation, but whoever invented etiquette and propriety really really stinks.

WHOAA!!!!!  I had the BEST day yesterday.  After having a small dinner around 7pm on Friday,  I resolved not to eat anything until lunch time on Sat.  After driving 2 hours and arriving at Sikeston, MO at 1:30 on Sat.  I was STARVING!!!!!!!!!!!!   And, Lambert's is like this oasis in the desert.

I LOVE Lambert's!!!  The food was AMAZING, and it just kept on coming, and coming, and coming!    Sorghum on steaming hot roll......man, that was soooo goood!!   They brought me quart of good old fashioned root bear, heapings of fried potatoes.......ahhhhhh.....heaven.

Check it out!

Wow, that's amazing.  I just decided to start writing to this wesite last night and already two people have read my Xanga.  Wow!!!  Amazing!!

And I agree, this is a good place to vent.....except Med school just started up again, so I don't really have anything to complain about.  hahahahah!! However, I was thinking today about "ambition".  Where did ambition orginate and why do we have it?  Better yet, why do I have it and how should I go about getting rid of it.  I was talking to a friend today about the AMA-MSS and he said I should run for MSS delegate some day.  I always thought my greatest ambition would be regional delegate which I've resolved to run for during the Dallas meeting this fall.

However, now he's got me thinking.  Why not......why stop there....if I have the opportunity to be MSS Delegate shouldn't I at least try for it.  Other than the obvious reasons why it'd be a great idea I sometimes wonder, what's wrong with just finishing med school, getting a job somewhere and taking care of a nice niche of patients.  Why do we try so hard anyway and what it is we're really looking for?

Ah well, questions for another time, as my immediate concerns really should be finishing this block on a high note. :)

Hmmm.....after some consultation and strong encouragement from my goodfriend chinapocahantas, I've decided it's time to resurrect the Xanga.  Fortunately, this site is read by like two people, so I suppose I could write just about anything.

It is strangely enough the year 2005.  I feel like the year 1999 was frozen in time and every new year is the year 2000.  I'm getting old.  I got back into dreary old St. Louis yesterday and proceeded to get completely drenched and frozen on my walk back from the metrolink.  I should have accepted my roommate's offer to come pick me up.  All the reasons I dislike this city came flooding back as soon as I stepped foot on St. Louis soil.  ::sigh::

However, it's good to see classmates again.  Inspired my Allison's recap of her 2004 resoutions I think I need to make some for 2005.  I have fallen into a cycle of demotivation and lethargy.  Unfortunately, I'm surrounded my a sea of Type A, highly motivated, very bright classmates who are quickly leaving me in the dust. :)

Since my POM homework is finished for now, I think I'll sleep on thos resolutions and see what comes of it.

hehe...my digital camera came in yesterday!  And, it's SO CUTE!  I absolutely LOVE it.  I'm taking all sorts of great pictures that my friends don't want me to have, so beware.  And, since I have this lovely Xanga....you get the picture.  Stay tuned.

Great thing about this site is Allison's the only one who reads it.  So, I can pretty much put pictures up that I promised to delete and keep them for posterity.  :D
